West Virginia 2/4 Duet (ebook)

This West Virginia 2/4 (two-four) duet version is based on the drum solo played by the Mountaineer Fifes and Drums. Pulsa Musica founder, George Willis, wrote this drum solo in homage to the traditional 2/4 drum solos such as the Army 2/4, Monumental 2/4, Crazy Army, Cormier 2/4, and many others. This composition uses only traditional rudiments (7-stroke and 15-stroke rolls, flams/flam paradiddles/flam accents/flamacue), but pushes the syncopation boundary quite far, especially in the “B” section. WVU drumset artist, Brian Wolfe, adapted the rudimental bass drum part to the drum set to make an integrated duet version.
